10月18日晚，常规赛第2轮青岛90-103不敌广东。青岛队2.25米的中锋高世鳌表现高效，他全场9投6中，贡献了14分10篮板4次盖帽，还留下了隔扣任骏飞的精彩一幕。
本赛季青岛队失去刘传兴之后，高世鳌成了球队内线倚重的第一高度。他的身材虽然稍显瘦弱，但毕竟有2.25米的身高优势。首节比赛，高世鳌就在篮下显现了防守威慑力，广东内线曾繁日的低位进攻连续被帽，短时间内3次投篮打铁。杜锋被迫调整战术，将已经失去进攻信心的曾繁日换下。
在进攻端，高世鳌在开始阶段还没有赢得队友的信任。他的一次背身要位，对位的是广东的后卫徐杰，但外线队友并未及喂球。不过替补上阵的后卫王洪，与高世鳌的配合比较“来电”，连续给他制造了机会。凭借接球扣篮和造犯规的罚球，半场结束时，高世鳌4投全中，得分迅速上双，贡献了10分5篮板3盖帽。
易边再战后仅打了1分钟，高世鳌再度称霸篮下，将赵睿的投篮生生帽掉。第三节战至8分多钟，高世鳌接队友分球后，迎着任骏飞的防守完成暴力隔扣。完成这次暴扣之后，高世鳌兴奋地对着镜头秀起了肌肉。
接下来的比赛，高世鳌轻松摘下了前场篮板，高举高打再添2分。这样他的前6次投篮弹无虚发，为青岛队攻下了14分。
最后一节还有10分15秒，高世鳌再度替补出场。随着体能的下降，加上广东队此时内线使用了大中锋苏伟，高世鳌在场上的作用明显下降，他的第7次出手终于投丢了，接下来的2次投篮也以打铁告终。尽管如此，高世鳌在前三节的发挥，已经足够令人满意。
